Background
Minimum maintenance standards were developed to provide municipalities with a defence against liability from actions arising with regard to levels of care on roads and bridges. Regulation 239/02, which came into force on November 1, 2002, contains the minimum maintenance standards. The regulation was amended by Regulation 23/2010. There is a separate Regulation 612/06 for the City of Toronto which was also amended by Regulation 22/2010. OGRA prepared several documents to assist municipalities and these are posted below.
NEW OGRA has developed a special webinar on the Revised Minimum Maintenance Standards, O. Reg. 239/02. Please click here for webinar details!
