PLEASE NOTE: The additional $425 registration fee for this course covers the WSIB examination and special participant reference material.

By special arrangement with the Municipal Health & Safety Association, we
are pleased to offer recognized certification training which meets the needs of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and conforms to the standards set by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Successful completion of this course is a mandatory requirement to become a certified member of a Joint Health and Safety Committee.

NOTE: The specialized content of this course will require attendance in
class until 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. Full attendance for all 3
days of the course is compulsory for certification.
  Content
This course has been designed in two parts:

Part 1 Basic Certification Training (2 days followed by a written exam)

Part 2 Workplace Specific Training for Outdoor Workers (1 day)

  Objectives
The Basic Certification component of this course is the first phase of the training process required for certification under guidelines established by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and enforced by the Ministry of Labour. The Workplace Specific Certification component represents phase two of the training.
  Who Should Attend
Those who wish to participate on a Joint Health and Safety Committee at their workplace.
  Prerequisites
None
  Accreditation Process
WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) recognizes this course as a requirement to be a certified member of a Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  Materials Provided
Current copy of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, participant notes.
