Municipal DataWorks is a web-based business application that includes inventory, condition plus inspection, asset valuation and capital planning tools for over 120 municipal infrastructure assets. In addition to the core asset inventory repository, which is hosted on a secure server with security equivalent to the banking industry, MDW has inspection tools for roads and bridges that produce indices for PCI, RSI, BCI and BSI.

A web service is available for batch loading municipal data into MDW using templates or the data conversion tool.

The asset valuation module assists municipalities with PSAB compliance in recording assets, date of acquisition, historical and replacement value, amortization, disposal, write downs or write offs and reporting. With the addition asset condition in conjunction with information collected for PSAB compliance, MDW can be used for capital planning or through web services to link with proprietary asset planning programs providing municipalities with the means for asset management.
