Part of the Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act, 2015 permits the province to develop a regulation for municipal asset management planning. This is something that OGRA has supported for a number of years and it aligns with our request for great clarity around the government’s expectations of municipal asset management planning.
OGRA has been on the committee that is leading the strategic development of this regulation. Consultations took place over the summer of 2016 across Ontario. The Ministry of Infrastructure has used the input from those meetings to develop a draft regulation.
A final approved version on the Ontario Municipal Asset Management Planning Regulation is expected to be posted to the Ontario Regulatory Registry and Environmental Registry sites later this spring.
