Winter Maintenance Operations Training

Snow School

Prepare for your winter season with a three-day comprehensive overview of current winter maintenance practices, equipment and materials.  Explore a variety of need to know topics including the Minimum Maintenance Standards, snow and ice management strategies, interpreting weather forecasts, and more.

 

Snow School for Mechanics & Technicians

This one-day interactive training provides Mechanics and Technicians with an opportunity to experience a practical approach to troubleshooting automated controllers, hydraulics and preventative maintenance for your equipment.

The following courses are offered on a contract basis, with OGRA bringing the training to your location:

Equipment Operator Workshop

Two-day training specifically for the operators of winter equipment.  Our facilitators guide you through the variety of equipment checks that must be completed; the storage, handling, and application of winter maintenance chemicals; and more.

Equipment Operator Refresher

A half-day workshop for those who have attended Snow School or the Equipment Operator Workshop to stay current and refresh their knowledge on winter operations.

Supervisor/Patroller Workshop

Over two days of training, supervisors and patrollers gain knowledge of winter maintenance as it relates to their role. Learning best practices in salt management planning, regulatory compliant staffing practices based on Hours of Service and Level of Service, amendments to the Minimum Maintenance Standards, and more.

Supervisor/Patroller Refresher

A half-day workshop for those who have attended Snow School or the Supervisor / Patroller Workshop to stay current and refresh their knowledge on winter operations.

Combined Winter Maintenance Refresher

Equipment operators, supervisors and patrollers benefit from reviewing the core winter maintenance practices, then picking three additional modules from our menu for a full day of training; or all the optional modules can be included for one and a half days of training.
