You will review a proposed or existing system to provide an overall understanding of sanitary sewer design. You will then complete a sanitary sewer design by using first principle methods and/or design aids (nomographs, tables, etc.).

Engineers in training, designers, technicians and technologists who are employed in the sewer design field and have a basic understanding of sewer design.

Will Heywood has over 35 years of progressive engineering experience both in Canada and abroad in the field of Water Resources. His areas of expertise include hydrologic/hydraulic analysis, basement flooding studies, watershed studies, stormwater management, flood plain management, municipal engineering, computer modelling and project management.
Will is currently the Team Lead, Stormwater Managerment (SWM) Solutions at Cole Engineering Group Ltd. In addition to being a Coordinator for the Sanitary Sewer Design course, Will is an annual lecturer on hydraulics in the Storm Sewer Design course.
Alex Sandovski is the Ontario Municipal Sales Engineer for IPEX Inc., the largest PVC pipe and fittings manufacturer in Canada. Alex is heavily involved in specification writing for buried water mains and sewer pipes and assists engineers, contractors and municipal operators in the proper design, installation, operation, maintenance and repair of buried PVC water and sewer pipes.
Alex also provides municipal training for operators, engineers and public works managers on all topics related to buried Vinyl pipe. Alex has a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Queen’s University and a Masters of Business Administration from York University.
