When it comes to roads and transportation, aligning decisions with desired outcomes has never been trickier. A new study from the Transportation Association finds that performance-based approaches to management and decision-making points the way forward.
The just released, Performance-Based Decision Making for Asset Management: Lessons Learned and Practitioner Toolkit is the culmination of three years of research. The report details the practical examples and organizational tools that performance-based decisions provide transportation leaders. The study, led by ten organizations across Canada, concludes that performance-based decision making enhances asset management practices, improves transparency, while also optimizing network investments.
Good Roads supported this research and Dr. James Smith, Good Roads’ Manager of Technical Programs and Research co-chaired the steering committee.
