Fueling the Future with Hydrogen - Opportunities for Transportation Innovation

This webinar will inform audience on the efforts that the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) is undertaking to bring hydrogen-based solutions to Canada’s transportation needs. Parvathy will:

  • Explain the Pan-Canadian Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Demonstration and Integration Trial project in detail
  • Share information on CUTRIC’s TRiPSIM© tool (Transit Route Performance Simulator) which has been developed by CUTRIC's modelling team to predict the performance of alternative propulsion urban vehicles on transit routes employing different utilization scenarios reflecting seasonal variations, route topography and ridership, and
  • Explain the significance of hydrogen as a fuel source and energy storage medium.
  • All-in-all, the webinar will enable the participants to get a good understanding of the global landscape on hydrogen technology integration in transportation (particularly buses) and explore the opportunities and challenges that exist in Canada.

Parvathy Pillai works as the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus Program Lead and Ontario Projects Development Officer at CUTRIC. Currently, she leads the Pan-Canadian Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle Demonstration & Integration Trial Phase I at CUTRIC. She is a transformational leader who creatively and strategically attempts to address Canada’s transportation needs through sustainable solutions. Previously, Parvathy has worked in project management, environmental consulting, research, teaching and knowledge translation at various organizations.
