Good Roads’ 2022 Provincial Election Priorities

On June 2nd, Ontarians will head to the polls to elect their next provincial government. The Doug Ford-led Ontario Progressive Conservative Party (PCs) hopes that their budget will be enticing enough for voters to send them back to Queen’s Park with a renewed mandate. The Opposition parties believe that voters will think twice about such a choice and cast a vote for them instead.

At the 2022 Good Roads Conference, members had the opportunity to hear directly from government ministers such as the Hon. Caroline Mulroney, Hon. Steve Clark, and Hon. Monte McNaughton about their accomplishments over the past four years. They also heard from Andrea Horwath (Leader, Ontario New Democratic Party), Steven Del Duca (Leader, Ontario Liberal Party), and Mike Schreiner (Leader, Ontario Green Party) about their alternate visions for the province. Government ministers and Opposition leaders had a chance to hear directly from Good Roads on the issues facing its members as well as some innovative solutions.

In the months leading up to the campaign, Good Roads held several meetings with all parties to discuss the priorities of its members. As these issues are complex, Good Roads has brought forward several solutions to tackle them.

Good Roads and its members are looking for a solid partnership with their provincial counterparts.

Throughout the election, Good Roads will be monitoring party platforms, commitments, and events and break down how they affect its members. Please monitor our website and social media channels for the latest insights.
